Friday Jun, 20th is Take Your Dog to Work Day. This exciting occasion invites employees to bring their pet to work, and it is as fun for the dogs as the employees. The animals get a chance to interact with new friends and new environments, and employees get to brighten up the workplace with dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Take Your Dog to Work Day is a once a year occasion at most offices, but here at The Squires Group, we celebrate every day. We invite our employees to bring in their four legged friends whenever they would like, and it is not uncommon to share a hallway or a conference room with a border collie, a golden retriever, or a yorkie. Everyone has a lot of fun with it, and we can’t imagine what our office would be like if it wasn’t filled with beloved pets.
We still take Take Your Dog to Work Day seriously, though, because we know that most people have to leave their dogs at home all day. In order to get into the spirit, we are running a special event to raise money for HART for Animals, a not-for-profit dedicated to raising money for homeless pets in Western Maryland. This is a fantastic organization doing a lot of great work, and we came up with a way to give back while showing off our office pets at the same time.
We’ve invited all our employees to take pictures of the dogs and write a little caption underneath. All of these pictures will go on our Facebook page, and our followers will have the chance to vote for the picture they like the best. Every time the “Like” button gets clicked, we will donate a dollar to HART for Animals. The dog that gets the most votes will win a gift card to buy a new collar, a chew toy, or some tasty treats.
Trust us, there are some really cute dogs in our office, so if you love canine companions, be sure to check out our social media and vote for your favorites. You will be helping a worthy cause and will be smiling the entire time.
