Consultant of the Quarter (Q2 2021)

Steven S 150x150 Q2 2021Please join us in congratulating Steven S. our Q2 “Consultant of the Quarter” for his outstanding work on one of our long-term federal contracts.

Steven is a Senior Mobile Developer with over 30 years of experience. He began his career developing nuclear power plant simulators and eventually progressed into a VP of Software Development as one of the founders of an energy monitoring and conservation start-up.

Over the years, Steven has developed a record of success by designing and developing solutions for entrepreneurs, burgeoning start-ups, state and federal agencies, and Fortune 500 companies as diverse as the Public Service Electric Group and Bloomberg, LLC.

Steven has been “great to work with from day one,” says Lara Joy, his Resource Manager at The Squires Group. Throughout the interview process, Steven communicated effectively and efficiently with our team and our client’s hiring managers. Since he started on the project in 2019, Steven has received glowing reviews for his solution delivery and work ethic. He consistently goes above and beyond, loves to take initiative, and has exceeded our client’s expectations.

Steven is also a SWIFT expert and has been mentoring another TSGi consultant to help advance their skills in this area. This is a perfect example of how Steven is willing to step up and contribute on the project. In addition to his focus and dedication, Steven has a great sense of humor–which helps keep the positivity rolling on the project!

Oddly, Steven attributes his IT and software development successes to not constantly living and breathing technology. “I’ve always believed that individuals who have vibrant interests outside of their technical nine-to-five jobs make the best developers,” says Steven. “People who think creatively 24-7 have a variety of interests and continue to learn and grow. They not only bring their ideas, imagination, and enthusiasm to the IT development process every morning, but they are far happier and fulfilled team members,” adds Steven. Steven practices what he preaches – he recently completed courses in playwrighting, intercultural communication, jazz piano, and theatre improv. The latter, he believes, could be a far more effective tool for team building than “falling backward into your peers.”

Steven, we are proud to have you as part of our team while successfully helping our clients Built Great SM. Thank you for all your contributions!
