HART for Animals, Inc. – Deep Creek Lake, MD
TSGi has contributed more than $100,000 to HART for Animals. Founded in 2003 and an organization very close to Nancy Squires’ heart, HART’s mission is to raise private funds to build an animal adoption center and improve the condition of companion animals in western Maryland and the surrounding counties. HART is saving the lives of adoptable animals through rescue and transport, owner education (a huge undertaking in the underdeveloped areas of the US!), training, rehabilitation and successful adoption. HART has raised enough money and receiving financial
commitments from banks and broke ground for the new Adoption Center in May 2011. For all of you familiar with the Deep Creek Lake area, the adoption center is located on Bumble Bee Road!

Annapolis Sustainable Business Alliance (ASBA) - Annapolis, MD
As an ASBA member, TSGi actively supports locally-owned businesses in the Annapolis area by purchasing from local farms and businesses helping to create a strong and sustainable community. ASBA's goals include building long-term economic empowerment and prosperity in communities through local business ownership, economic justice, cultural diversity and a healthy natural environment. Independent businesses create wealth by engaging local people in the production, marketing, and consumption of goods, they pay taxes, and reinvest in our communities.

Davidsonville Wildlife Sanctuary - Davidsonville, MD
The Davidsonville Wildlife Sanctuary is dedicated to rehabilitating injured or orphaned wildlife with the goal of healing and eventually releasing the animals back into the wild. When release is not an option, the Sanctuary provides a permanent home. The Sanctuary is manned by volunteers - no employees. Donations are used to care for the many animals that need a helping hand, or a permanent home at the sanctuary.

Camp Letts is a YMCA camp that has supported the community for more than 100 years. Located on a beautiful inlet off the sparkling Chesapeake Bay, Camp Letts overlooks three islands and a 2,600-acre preserve. Children from the Baltimore-Washington area and beyond come to this secure and exciting environment to kindle friendships and master new skills - all while learning more about themselves, their peers and the world in which they live.
TSGi sponsored modern dance classes at the camp. Participants were taught various modern dance techniques to promote team work, physical activity and fun!

Word Dance Theater - Washington, DC
The Squires Group, Inc. has supported the Word Dance Theater in presenting the world premier of "Preludes: Duncan, Sand & Chopin."
To read a wonderful review of the second presentation of Preludes in June, 2011, visit: Charleston Today. The reviewer raves, "The music is a perfect stage for Duncan's dances that become a silent song of sheer expression. Kudos to the creators of this original and heart-wrenching theatrical experience."

This is an original dance/theater production that explores the dynamics between boundary-breaking artists Isadora Duncan, George Sand, and Frédéric Chopin, as each strive to embody beauty and freedom through their art. In this historically significant work, Word Dance Theater is the first company to present the complete collection of Isadora Duncan's original choreography to Chopin's masterwork 24 Preludes.

Ready, Willing and Working – Washington, DC
At the end of every year, we give each of our consultants a gift of their choice – or, if they prefer, we will donate to an organization in their name. Most recently, our team wanted to contribute “locally” and was moved by a program called Ready, Willing and Working – a Washington, DC-based organization that empowers individuals to break the cycles of homelessness, welfare dependency and repeated criminal acts through a residential, paid-work rehabilitation program. This program offers support services allowing participants to achieve permanent self-sufficiency. In 2010, TSGi donated more than $28,000 to this great organization!
