Oracle Federal Financials Upgrade

The goal of this Oracle Federal Financials project is to improve the availability and reliability of this Federal agency’s financial data for its field managers and executives. We supported this project in the upgrade of the finance and accounting systems. We also led the effort to deploy a data warehouse utilizing an Oracle Portal front-end.

Overall, the system improved enterprise wide decision-making by providing agency executives and managers with just-in-time financial data at their desktop. In addition, the system reduced many redundancies such as duplicate data entry efforts. This streamlined system has assisted the agency in running a more productive and efficient business model. On the upgrade, our team has made significant contributions during the implementation of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Federal Administration modules. We have also supported the client in their Year-End Close and Reconciliation efforts.

As a result of our efforts… the Departmental stakeholders are now provided with accurate and timely financial information right on their desktop through the Oracle Portal and Data Warehouse. This new system has improved the update cycle of Federal financial data from monthly to daily. This allows users to make better informed decisions because they have the most current information right on their desktop. Our team’s efforts have had an immediate impact in budgeting, forecasting and year-end close activities.
