PeopleSoft HRMS Upgrade and Support

Our client brought us on to support their recent upgrade of their PeopleSoft HRMS implementation. At the time they were using version 8.0 and the cost of continuing support was becoming substantial. They selected The Squires Group as a reliable partner to ensure operations ran smoothly during and after the upgrade.

The upgrade focused on migrating from App 8.0 /Tools 8.18 to App 8.9/Tools 8.47. To ensure that the upgrade processed smoothly and was implemented on time, it was primarily a "technical upgrade" with limited new functionality.

Our role was primarily upgrading SQR's to the 8.9 table structures and making functional changes as required based on the delivered table changes and new tables being added. All changes were documented and presented for peer review in a group setting. In addition, we helped create and run "data validation" scripts against the 8.0 tables to establish baseline counts and then run again against the 8.9 upgraded tables to ensure that data conversion occurred correctly. All discrepancies were researched to determine if the count differences were correct or not.

As a result of our efforts.our client received experienced Squires Group personnel with in-depth knowledge of the planned PeopleSoft tools upgrade. We not only accomplished our upgrade tasks but also contributed to the necessary system enhancements. Once the system was upgraded, it received tax updates on a regular basis. These timely tax updates helped the payroll system for 70,000 employees/ contractors run smoothly. Our efforts also resulted in the development of a custom Leave Accrual module to meet the new legislation requirements in San Francisco.
