PeopleSoft 9.0 Financials Implementation

The objective of this project was to implement a suite of PeopleSoft 9.0 Financials in Oracle 10g within a government agency. Modules being implemented included General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Projects, Billing and Accounts Receivable, with Commitment Control across all modules.

Our role was to support the project with a highly qualified team of PeopleSoft Financials experts with TS/SCI with lifestyle poly clearances. We met this challenge by providing an experienced team of mid to senior level functional and technical resources which were critical for the successful implementation of the project.

The TSGi team assisted in the installation, maintenance, and configuration of the system to ensure the integrity of software. Their tasks involved planning and managing the installation of application patches; PeopleTools updates and releases on development, test, quality assurance and production systems; configuring monitoring tools to evaluate performance of the systems; performing research, documentation and resolving issues; as well as providing technical administration and migration support for PeopleSoft.

Squires’ staff also supported the design, development and implementation of online customizations, batch interfaces, online pages and Application Messaging interfaces using PeopleCode and Integration Broker technology. In addition, the TSGi team worked with end users during the development, testing and production phases of the project.

The TSGi team was also primarily responsible for the development of interfaces, reports, and custom functionality using PeopleTools 8.49, Application Engine, nVision, Query and SQR.  They authored technical design documents, test plans and deployment plans and were responsible for the analysis of system problems and proposed modifications.

We also participated in several design and development initiatives, including the design and development of custom Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes. This allowed system support ticket information to be imported into a Enterprise Performance Management environment, and the design and development of a custom page to search and review support ticket information was also developer

Technical and IT support was provided for program executives and service personnel as the customer service team managed customer requests for over 5,000 users of the PeopleSoft database.  Phone calls and virtual submissions through IE Remedy were taken, logged, and processed in a timely manner. The team also assisted with processing FACTS account forms for new users and modifying accounts. They also helped users navigate through FACTS Help database concerning inquiries, requisitions, purchase requests, invoices and vouchers.

As a result of our efforts.and because of our recognized expertise in staffing cleared positions, we were able to provide the professionals required to meet and exceed the client’s expectations. The depth and breadth of PeopleSoft expertise that TSGi provided enabled the project to remain on track and deliver a solution that has modernized financial operations within the agency.
