20 Things You Didn't Know about The Squires Group – Part 2

We are back with a second round of surprising facts that you probably didn’t know about The Squires Group. Be sure to check out part one, if you missed it.

  1. Our Senior Account Manager, Patti Poole was a Division-1 swimmer at Maryland. It’s still a safe bet that she can leave anyone in the office in her wake.
  2. Our Director of Resource Management, Jane Myers has won State Fair blue ribbons for canning tomatoes and peaches. They are always a hot commodity around the office.
  3. Jane is not the only blue ribbon winner in her family. Her dog Jayhawk competes in — and regularly wins Frisbee catching competitions held throughout the region.
  1. Senior Resource Manager, Mary Ann McClayton is both a grandmother and an avid rock climber. We think both take a lot of strength and courage.
  2. Resource Manager, Carla Massarini was the choir director at her church school for 10 years. She hasn’t yet organized a Squires Group choir, but it could be coming down the pipeline.
  3. Marketing and Resource Support team member Donna Hill and her husband Randy operate their own apiary and harvest their own honey. Remarkably, she has never missed work because of bee stings.
  4. Another Marketing and Resource Support team member, Brenda Cherry, is affectionately known as White Lightning because she regularly gets pulled over for speeding and often by the same police officer.
  5. The Squires Group is a committed bunch, which is why a number of our staff are happily married to their high school sweethearts. These include Rich and Sue Dobyns, Eric and Margaret Galasso, and Christine and Bob Martein.
  6. Three members of royalty have been gracious enough to join our team – Christine Martein (Human Resources) was a Cherry Blossom princess, Sandi Rewers (Accounting Specialist) was the Princess of Kahoolawe, and Cathy Dove (Marketing and Resource Support) was the Anne Arundel County Fire Prevention Queen.
  7. Our team member Julie went on vacation to Florida recently and decided to enter a triathlon on a whim. To the rest of us, that sounds like an exhausting way to vacation.

It has been a great 20 years at The Squires Group, and that is largely thanks to our team. Without their dedication, dynamism, and commitment to excellence, this company would not be what it is today. We have big plans for the future and hope to introduce some exciting new initiatives soon. Be a part of the next 20 years of The Squires Group.
