The Challenge

Our Account Manager, Berry Sprague, has a 15-year working relationship with our client. When they reached out to Berry to discuss a sudden and unexpected loss of a senior accountant, our recruiting team mobilized quickly to create a talent search program.

In 2019, we successfully placed a senior accountant with them. For this search, the ideal Senior Accountant candidate would have 4+ years of accounting experience, an accounting degree, and the ability to work collaboratively with other business units. This position also offered the opportunity for rapid advancement and excellent benefits.

The Solution

Our Resource Manager, Ed Kennedy, who specializes in accounting and finance recruiting, immediately launched a search for local candidates, but also proactively researched candidates living outside the area that were open to relocation.

This expanded search proved to be a fruitful endeavor when he qualified a candidate who not only had the required accounting experience, but was also eager to move to the DC/ Baltimore metro region. She had lived and worked her entire career in a small town on the eastern shore of Maryland and was eager to move to DC or Baltimore region to experience a new way of life.

An initial interview was quickly set-up and they found her skills to be spot-on. After a final in-person interview, they were even more impressed with her skills and cultural fit. Our client quickly put together a generous employment offer which included a relocation package.

The Success

Our candidate was thrilled with the opportunity and accepted the offer. After relocating to the metro area, our candidate started her new role and is now thriving in her new environment.

She had been at her previous job for over 13 years and was ready not only for a career change but a change of scenery too! One that would keep her closer to her family but would also provide a new and invigorating atmosphere for her personal and professional needs.
