Helping our client as they transition from PeopleSoft to Workday

Our client, a global financial services firm, was in the process of transitioning from PeopleSoft HCM to Workday HCM (Software as a Service – SAAS model). They were rolling out this transition on a global basis and were implementing Payroll, HR and Benefits modules in their first phase of the project.

The Challenge

As part of the transition to a SAAS model, our client was looking to add a strong Change Management and Training expert to roll out the full functionality and assist the user base to transition from PeopleSoft to Workday HCM. After the Workday functionality was configured, our client needed a Workday change management and training expert that would help them with the creation of instructional design (using UPerform) and would conduct computer based training in classroom training sessions. This task was critical to ensure that the users (managers, employees, recruiting and HR staff) were aligned with the transition to the new Workday system.

The Solution

TSGi was able to rapidly deliver a local training expert who had over a decade of PeopleSoft HCM training experience particularly in the areas of training analysis, design, development and delivery services. Our consultant had extensive experience with creating of e-learning videos using Adobe Captivate, Camtasia and User Productivity Kit (UPK). As a first step, our training and change expert was involved in the usability studies to gather information that helped in the design of the instructional materials to transition from PeopleSoft to Workday. During the second phase, the TSGi training expert assisted in user acceptance testing. End users spanned from Managers, Employees, Recruiting and HR Generalists who were located in the US and overseas. Our consultant also utilized Captivate and UPerform to create the training materials.

The Success

As a result of these efforts, our client was assured that the transition to Workday would take place smoothly. To do this, our consultant customized the training frequency based on the needs and roles of individuals within the firm. This ensured that adequate touch points were achieved based on their needs. Today, our Workday training and change management consultant continues to provide ongoing training to the end users as more and more functionality is rolled out.
